Q. When does Food For All Seasons need my final guest Count? Can I adjust my count the day before or on the day of the event?
A. Guaranteed guest counts are required 5 business days before the event. You may increase your count up to 24 hours before an event (some additional charges may be occurred), however we cannot accept decreases in guests counts within 5 business days of the event.
Q. What happens with the leftover food from my event?
A. In compliance with the standards set by the State of Michigan Board of Health, prepared leftover food is brought back to our kitchen and disposed of properly. This eliminates the potential of food-borne illness caused by improperly stored foods which could occur when a client cannot properly handle foods after their event concludes. Food For All Seasons supports Food Gathers and the Community Shelter Kitchen and donates food to them on a regular bases.
Q. If I have guests with special dietary needs, can you accommodate them? What about the vegetarians?
A. Yes, when a contract is drawn by our sales associates, if you have special dietary needs such as certain food restrictions, they will be listed in the contract. In addition we are very well versed in vegetarian cuisine and have many great tasting foods to choose from. We always recommend that a vegetarian choice be included in your menu.
Q. What do I need to do to secure a reservation with Food For All Seasons?
A. To secure a date with us we require a credit card number with a deposit of 25%. The additional estimated charges will be run through the credit card 5 business days before the event. We also accept checks, cash, or money orders.
Q. What happens if I need to postpone our event?
A. In most cases the deposit is non-refundable. We will be happy to apply it to a later date.
Q. When I get my final bill will there be any “surprises costs” that I need to worry about?
A. We make every effort when we prepare a proposal to give you a realistic idea of the total charges. The food costs are based on the number of guests attending. Staff charges are approximated and are calculated on the actual hours worked which can be either less or more than the approximated quote.
Q. On my final bill my staff charges are higher than the estimated charges.
A. Staff charges are based on an hourly rate, portal to portal. This means that the charges begin when the staff arrive at the kitchen to assemble your event until the time that they return to the kitchen and clean and put away all of the equipment. However if your final charges were higher than estimated it might be due to the event running later than anticipated, the event took longer to break down and cleanup or that the host wanted the staff to help with certain cleanup or re-arranging that was not know at the time the proposal was generated.
Q. What happens to the money I pay for the staff and who gets the gratituty?
A. The billable charges for staff hours goes directly to pay our staff which includes all withholdings, taxes, and workman’s comp insurance and uniforms. The entire gratituty is paid directly and entirely to the staff who worked your event.
Q. I noticed on your website that the menus have “price ranges” and not each menu has a specific price. Why is that?
A. Food prices change daily. A lot depends on what is happening in the national and world food markets. For example the produce market was greatly affected by the hurricanes this fall creating a price increase in vegetables. By keeping a price range we can give you a rough idea of charges while being able to decrease or increase charges as needed.
Q. What if I would like to sample your food to help me make my decision?
A. Once we design a menu for you based on your needs and you have confirmed your reservation we offer complimentary tasting for two. We prepare the dishes and you can come to pick them up and enjoy them in the privacy of your home. If you don’t confirm your reservation with us we will charge you for the cost of the two meals.
Q. Do you offer any additional menus that are not listed on your website?
A. Of course. Just let us know what type of foods you are interested in and our sales associates will help you plan a menu.
Q. If I have some specific ideas and some specific recipes that I would like to have for my event will Food For All Seasons prepare them?
A. Yes, we are always able to take your ideas and work with your recipes to create the type of event that you desire.
